Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a New Mexico Instrumentation and Electrical Controls Technician. The Questa Mine is near Questa New Mexico. No relocation assistance will be offered at this time.

Your primary responsibilties will include:

  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, and calibration of instrumentation and control equipment

  • Provide technical knowledge and decision-making capabilities to troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical, instrument, and control systems

  • Responsible for troubleshooting various industrial controls, transmitters, recorders, analyzers, and ensuring proper operation of equipment as well as calibrations

  • Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers and SCADA software

  • Complete various reports such as service reports, timesheets, expense reports in a timely, accurate and legible fashion

  • Working collaboratively with site managers, operation staff, subcontractors and other project staff

Job Requirements:

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Must be able to read and red-line P&ID's and electrical diagrams

  • Experience using test equipment, volt-ohm meters, amp probes and calibration equipment

  • Good communication and problem solving/troubleshooting skills

  • Knowledge of PLC and SCADA hardware/software a plus

  • Strong computer skills including experience in MS Office Suite

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to speak and read English

  • Experience operating a forklift and manlift is a plus.

  • Candidate must have an excellent understanding of Health and Safety practices and mechanical aptitude is a must. Experience with Chevron Health, Environment and Safety Management (CHESM) and Operational Excellence (OE) processes is a definite plus.

  • Candidate must be willing to work night shifts, weekends, and Holidays as necessary. Candidate must be willing to work 12 hour shifts (AM and/or PM) and overtime as necessary.

  • Candidate must be willing to locate to reasonable commuting distance from the job site at the Questa Mine, near Questa New Mexico. No relocation assistance will be offered at this time.

  • The candidate must be able to attain a 40-hour OSHA HAZWoper certificate or have a current certificate.

  • Candidate will be required to wear safety equipment / PPE as appropriate for job tasks including fall protection, respiratory protection, and chemical safety equipment.

  • Candidate will be required to perform moderate physical activity; ability to lift and carry items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; crawling, bending, climbing, kneeling, squatting and working in confined spaces as necessary.

  • The candidate must be eligible for employment in the U.S., possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, and pass a pre-employment physical including drug screening and criminal background check.
