Golder Associates is currently seeking a North American Marketing & Proposals Leader.
In this role you will lead the design, development and delivery of marketing communications strategy, plans and campaigns, and proposal activities for the North American operations of Golder. In addition, you will work collaboratively with marketing & communications staff in all regions and sector teams (worldwide) to deliver marketing and communication initiatives that position the Golder brand as a best-in-class consulting firm in the industry. This role is regional, but is also holds a key place in global activities as the largest region within Golder and leadership of the most significant resource pool of marketing-communications-proposal talent.
Key responsibilities include:
Work collaboratively with the President of the Americas Region and the Americas Leadership Team, subject matter experts, and business development leaders to define annual marketing plan and budget schedule across the North American market. Streamline, manage and implement the plan across all market segments, locations and media channels in conjunction with global communications.
Direct the marketing and proposal resource teams in delivering high-quality effective programs and documents to win work in competitive market.
Contribute to the total cross-functional effectiveness of the department, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.
Establish measures and benchmarks to drive a high-performing culture through the North American marketing and proposal teams. Create clarity of roles and responsibilities to maximize talent and influence results.
Manage your marketing and proposal spend within total marketing budget to obtain maximum ROI (use reporting tools to demonstrate connectivity between spend and return)
Act as brand champion, following global guidelines and establishing a process for improving brand materials over time through collaborative efforts on both messaging and visuals.
Assist the Director of Global Communications and Director of Global Marketing on special projects.
Other duties as required
Work with Americas Leadership Team and Global Client Program Director to establish target client list and capture plans. Mobilize team resources to support early, middle and end game strategies to win work from target clients.
Continuously improve proposal strategies and competitive differentiated messaging to improve win rate. Inspire team to stretch and use new technologies and greater content to stand apart from the pack.
Oversee all proposal activities, including directing proposal personnel, managing workflow assignments to meet proposal schedules and deadlines, and establishing best practices for the proposal function.
Ensure integration of marketing messages into proposal libraries and materials to establish consistent broad market and individual client conversations.
Foster proactive model of opportunity/client lead qualification and follow-up as generated by marketing and BD activities. Connect proposal teams to broad client outreach activities to generate full sales cycle understanding.
Lead efforts to debrief on losses and wins to establish a learning process for improvement.
Understand our total regional market picture – existing and target clients, master schedule of market-facing events, and work with Americas Leadership Team to establish a master calendar of events and messaging strategy.
Create regional campaigns and assist in global campaigns that position Golder within the region, focusing on key value propositions with established thought leaders. Work in concert with global PR/Social resources to engage media where possible.
Provide marketing consultancy to all brand level and market sector focused marketing activity to operations leaders. Provide streamlined processes that promote self-service and consistent delivery of market messaging.
Direct market research activities to help to inform business decisions, understand competitive and client markets, and to identify potential trends and/or issues where Golder can provide opinion and leadership as part of market strategy.
Manage the client satisfaction program in North America to provide feedback to client/project teams and deepen client relationships as well as gather intel for future capture planning.
Foster proactive model of lead generation and hand-off to client teams and proposal teams. Connect marketing teams to focused proposal activities to generate full sales cycle understanding.
Develop marketing collateral and messages and maximize new media channels and delivery options.
10+ years of marketing and proposal experience in B2B environment.
B.A. or M.A. in marketing and communications is preferred. Some level of Public Relations experience a plus.

Ability to work with senior stakeholders and to perform within a leadership environment, working well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Demonstrable record of high performance / delivery across the entire clients sales cycle – from market messaging and brand positioning through to deal closure and beyond to client satisfaction measures.
Ability to proactively manage a large portfolio of work and a wide range of stakeholders
Experience developing and delivering strategic marketing plan on a national/regional scale and in a matrix situation
Strong organizational skills.
