In this role you will assist ongoing environmental projects that involve field investigations, report preparation, and interaction with coworkers, clients, subcontractors, and regulators. Projects will include groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling; hazardous waste site characterization and remediation; environmental site assessments; and construction oversight. This position will require frequent travel and fieldwork. Additional responsibilities will include the ability to:
Conduct subsurface investigations including: drilling oversight, soil classification, and monitoring well installation;
Sample groundwater, stormwater, and soil using industry standard techniques and procedures;
Operate and maintain field equipment including, but not limited to, water quality meters, PIDs, and pressure transducers;
Provide contractor oversight and ensure adherence to project work plans;
Assist hazardous waste characterization and management;
Represent Golder as the face of our company while on our clients’ sites;
Understand various regulatory environments and associated technical requirements;
Prepare analytical data;
Assist feasibility studies, environmental site assessments, contaminated site investigations, and written correspondence with client representatives;
Prepare state and federal level reports and other deliverables.
B.S. (minimum) in Geology, Environmental Science, similar earth science, or Environmental Engineering.
A minimum of 1 year of environmental project experience; recent graduates with relevant internship experience considered.
Work in a respirator (Level C) and be willing and able to lift at least 40 pounds.

Leadership ability with a positive attitude;
Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills;
Strong computer skills including Word and Excel. Specialized computer skills including database applications, and/or groundwater and contaminant modeling software desirable;
Ability to work in teams;
Time management skills including the ability to meet strict deadlines;
Experience with low-flow groundwater sampling, borehole logging, monitoring well installation, and use of field safety and water quality monitoring equipment is preferred;
Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training is preferred.
