Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Construction Quality Assurance Technician for the Houston office. This individual will be responsible for work on earthworks and geomembrane liner projects related to the mining and solid waste industry.
Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
Proven working experience in geosynthetics and earthworks CQA;
Oversee and manage CQA staff on construction projects;
Provide training to junior CQA staff;
Lead construction progress meetings;
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status;
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques;
Track labor, inventory, materials, and equipment;
Oversee construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations;
Coordination between crafts, designer, subcontractor, CQC, CQA, testing laboratories, surveyors, and client;
Review of geosynthetics manufacturing quality control test results data;
Field and laboratory testing, and
Design interpretation to assure that projects are completed in accordance with project design drawings and technical specifications.
The technician will be expected to interact with both contractors and owners in a positive and constructive manner to solve issues that arise during construction.
HS Diploma or Diploma from accredited college with 5 - 10 years of field and/or construction experience.
Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs.
Strongly prefer understanding of civil and geotechnical engineering design and background in earthworks construction including the ability to read and understand technical civil design drawings and technical memos.
Travel, including travel for extended assignments is required.
Daily report writing and construction documentation is required.
The ability to communicate constructively with contractors, owners, and senior Golder personnel is essential.
Must have experience with geosynthetics installation CQA.
Must have experience with earthworks construction CQA.
NICET, ACI, GRI Certification, MSHA and OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper training and certificate are a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
