Job Responsibilities:

Golder Associates is currently seeking a Junior Geologist/Environmental Engineer to join our team in Manchester, NH. In this role you will participate in environmental projects that involve field investigations, subcontractor oversight, report preparation, limited task management, and working as a team with coworkers. You will also participate in the following:

  • subsurface site investigations involving drilling, soil classification, rock coring and logging, and well installation;

  • groundwater, surface water, soil and air sampling;

  • operation, maintenance and monitoring of remedial systems;

  • investigation-derived data tabulation and evaluation;

  • regulatory report writing; and

  • Phase I environmental site assessments.

This position will involve a mix of office and field work. The position requires overnight travel and fieldwork as dictated by project demands.

Job Requirements:

  • B.S., in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering (Master’s Degree is preferred) a minimum of 2 years of experience in the environmental field.

  • Excellent verbal and strong writing and organizational skills combined with leadership ability, a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups.

  • Ability to routinely write letters and regulatory reports with some assistance from senior professionals;

  • Ability to independently tabulate, evaluate, and draw conclusions from assessment data generated from field investigations and Phase I environmental site assessments.

  • Ability to organize and coordinate field investigations.

  • Strong computer skills including use of Word and Excel to create letters, reports and tables.

  • 40 Hour OSHA health and safety training.

  • New Hampshire, Massachusetts and/or Connecticut regulatory experience is a plus.

  • Remedial system operation and maintenance experience is a plus.

Qualified candidates will have project and client management experience in subsurface site characterization, analytical data evaluation, remediation planning, environmental regulations, writing reports and small proposals, and performance of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. Qualified candidate must pass a physical examination and a drug screen as a condition of employment.
