Golder Associates Staff Civil Engineer in Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Albuquerque, NM office of Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a full time Entry-level Geological/Geotechnical Engineer . This position will support a wide variety of projects including environmental, civil, geological, and geotechnical efforts. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:


  • Perform field assignments such as:

  • groundwater and /or soil sampling,

  • aquatic sampling,

  • construction quality oversight,

  • geologic/geotechnical mapping

  • soil and rock descriptions

  • Oversee drilling and well installation including soil and rock boring logs

  • Support the Engineering and Geosciences group in the performance of technical assignments related to geologic/geotechnical and environmental engineering

  • Prepare technical reports, including documentation of field investigative procedures, data management and interpretations, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data

  • Provide drafting support including civil design using AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Experience with software such as GIS, Surfer, MODFLOW, gINT, Vulcan, MineSight 3D, is desirable

Job Requirements

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geological/Civil/Environmental Engineering, (MSc Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred)EIT or ability to obtain in 6 months.

  • 0-2 years of engineering experience

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills essential

  • Willing to travel and undertake field assignments at remote locations

  • Local candidates will receive primary consideration, no relocation is provided

  • Strong work ethic

  • Must be willing to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment, troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems preferred; able to lift 50 pounds

  • Must be eligible for employment in the US, possesses a valid driver’s license, and pass a pre-employment physical including drug screen and pre-employment background check.
