Golder has a new opportunity for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our Questa Water Treatment Plant Operations and Maintenance Team in Questa, New Mexico.

Responsibilities of the rolewill include:

  • Dependably and reliably perform operation,maintenance and monitoring of wastewater treatment plant process equipment,including pumps, motors, membrane filtration equipment, clarification systems,chemical feeds, sludge equipment, filter presses, and basic laboratoryinstruments to ensure treated water meets all applicable NPDES permitrequirements.

  • Monitor plant processes, with assistance, to ensureeffluent quality meets or exceeds the (NPDES) permit requirements; monitors andreviews laboratory results and instrument readings to make adjustments asnecessary.

  • Maintain and update records, forms, and reports invarious automated systems, formats, and software for accuracy to ensure dataintegrity, compliance, and adherence to internal controls policies andpractices.

  • Assist with providing recommendations to assist inthe development and implementation of procedures for improved plant operations.

  • Collect samples for analysis and reporting usingprescribed methods and techniques to make appropriate adjustments as necessary.

  • Coordinate activities with maintenance staff toensure preventive and corrective maintenance of plant equipment is performed ina timely manner. Assist maintenance staff as required and appropriate to assuretimely repairs.

  • Interact with site and project management to providethe appropriate level of response to inquiries, issues of concern, and requestsfor information, or explanation, regarding various services, processes,policies, and/or procedures.

  • Perform functions related to the general upkeep,cleaning, maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds to assure a safe,clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment.


  • Experience working around or operating Wastewatertreatment plants.

  • Safe operation of a dump truck or roll off truck anda company vehicle.

  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safetypractices and mechanical aptitude.

  • Willingnessto work night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to work 12-hourshifts (AM and/or PM) and overtime as necessary.

  • Ability to attain a 40-hour OSHA HAZWopercertificate or have a current certificate.

  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity; ability to lift and carryitems weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; crawling, bending, climbing, kneeling,squatting and working in confined spaces as necessary.


  • New Mexico Class II Wastewater Operator Certification.

  • Experience operating a front-end loader, scissorlift, motor grader, backhoe and/ or skid steer.

  • Experience with Chevron Health, Environment andSafety Management (CHESM) and Operational Excellence (OE) processes.
