Golder Associates is currently seeking a Lab Technician for a summer internship in our Anchorage, Alaska location. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Work in our materials testinglaboratory and specifically in our geotechnical laboratory, and possibly assistin field operations;
Carry out laboratorytests on geotechnical projects (soils, aggregates, & rock);
Shipping, receiving,logging, handling, storage of and disposal of samples; and
Cleaning, maintaining,repairing and calibration of laboratory testing equipment.
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Currently enrolled or(recently graduated) in a Geotechnical/Civil Engineering program, or Geologyprogram;
A working knowledge ofMicrosoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of generalgeology and soil mechanics is preferred;
Must have the ability towork overtime hours (including evenings and weekends);
Must be able to lift upto 50 lbs. with frequent bending over;
The successful candidatewill have strong organizational skills, possess problem solving abilities, andkeen mathematical and analytical aptitude.
The ability to work in a fast-paced,team environment while maintaining strict quality standards is a must.
There is no relocation funding associated with this opening. Local candidates will receive primary consideration.
