Golder has a new opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in a full-time position at our Atlanta, GA office. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals supporting a variety of civil, environmental, and water resource projects.
In this role, you will work with government, mining, power, waste and oil/gas clients developing solutions for complex problems. You can expect to be engaged in work that involves dams, waste impoundment structures, foundations, and retaining walls performing field work, design, and construction inspection.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Working with project teams on civil and geotechnical projects
Performing engineering analyses such as:
Site and material characterization
Slope stability, seepage, liquefaction, and settlement
Surface water management
Preparing reports documenting field and laboratory investigations, engineering analyses, and facility designs
Preparing project design packages including technical drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
Communicating with clients and developing scopes of work
Developing plans for and conducting field assignments, such as inspections, investigations, and construction monitoring
Preparing and implementing project health and safety plans
A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or an equivalent field of study
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to complete the exam within 6 months of start date
Strong analytical skills including the ability to complete engineering calculations and analyses
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and on teams
Comfortable working in remote settings
An active focus on health and safety for themselves and others
Relevant internship or co-op experience
Master’s degree in related field
