Golder has a new opportunity for an HR Advisor to be based in our Atlanta, GA (Chamblee area) office who will provide support to various locations in the Southeast.
This role reports directly to the USA HR Director and is a mix of both strategic and tactical (hands-on) operational support to group leaders and employees within the assigned business units, ensuring compliance with and understanding of internal policies and external legislation while fostering positive employee engagement. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment of the business and HR strategies with a focus on change management, total rewards, performance management and workforce planning.
Some select key areas of responsibility are as follows:
Builds partnerships with leaders within the business unit(s) to understand strategic goals and needs, assess HR implications, and implement strategies to align HR services to support attainment of business goals.
Serves as primary contact for leaders on matters such as new employee integration, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, compensation, departures and other operational HR matters.
Handles employee relations matters of considerable complexity, including conducting investigations and supporting and coaching leaders in conflict resolution techniques.
Provides coaching, advice and tools to leaders to address a broad spectrum of matters from employee performance issues to engaging high potential staff.
Supports effective implementation and application of Regional and Global HR policies, programs and processes and proactively identifies potential challenges.
This position requires travel to other office locations from time to time but estimated at present not to exceed 10%.
The successful candidate is required to have a minimum of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
Five years’ experience in HR in an HR generalist capacity
Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, including OFCCP compliance requirements for federal contractors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels within the organization
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and recent experience with an HRIS (Oracle preferred)
Demonstrated ability to uphold confidentiality and manage sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
Professional designation in HR preferred.
