Golder Associates Laboratory Technician I in ATLANTA, Georgia

Golder Associates is now offering a great opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our Atlanta, GA operations. In this role you will have the opportunity work in our Engineering & Materials Testing Laboratory. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Performing basic laboratory tests on geotechnical (soils, aggregates, & rock), geosynthetics (plastics), and concrete to various standards (i.e. ASTM & AASHTO) under supervision or an intermediate or senior Laboratory Technician

  • Shipping, receiving, logging, handling, storage of and disposal of samples; and

  • Cleaning, maintaining, repairing and calibration of laboratory testing equipment

  • Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 60 pounds (while following proper safety protocol)

  • Keeping abreast of advancing technologies, methods, and research & development.

  • Recording test data and file all project related laboratory notes. including data entry: typing, editing, formatting, proofreading and assisting in the production of documents including reports, and correspondence

  • Responding to the needs of several staff members at once, interact with all levels of staff and prioritize multiple tasks


  • High school diploma

  • Ability to work overtime hours, including evenings and weekends

  • Ability repair and maintain laboratory testing equipment

  • Safety oriented

  • Enthusiastic, shows initiative, and adaptive to different work assignments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to spellcheck and proofread reports

  • Analytical mind with disciplined organizational skills. Attention to detail is paramount

  • Possess problem solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment while maintaining strict quality standards

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat


  • One year of relevant experience

  • Post-secondary education with coursework in mathematics and science

  • Experience with ASTM & AASHTO test methods.

  • Experience in physical, mechanical, and materials testing (not chemical, analytical chemistry, or biological testing)
