Golder has a new opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team full-time based in Auckland . You will be working on a variety of civil and mining infrastructure projects across New Zealand.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
Carrying out assignments/ projects under the general direction of more senior engineers;
Assisting with project planning and deliverables of technical complexity;
Coordinating and/or conducting geotechnical investigations including interpreting geotechnical data, performing analysis and drawing conclusions/ recommendations;
Preparing geotechnical reports and undertaking field assignments;
Conducting high quality characterization of materials;
Preparing proposals and reports for clients with appropriate senior review;
Maintaining client contact and customer liaison; and
Identifying safety hazards and completing OH&S incident reporting.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, as well as relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering, working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) in New Zealand will be highly regarded;
Solid fieldwork experience in various geological conditions;
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail;
Well-developed oral and written communication skills; and
Good project management skills and the ability to establish and build relationships with clients.
