An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Air Quality Consultant based in New Zealand . This a key focus of this role is to provide technical excellence, solution-focus methods and mentoring of junior staff to grow capability to our private and public section clients.
Key duties andresponsibilities include:
Preparingor peer reviewing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for a range of publicand private sector clients to assist with the processing of applications forresource consents for activities that cause impact upon air quality;
Specifyingambient air contaminant and weather monitoring equipment/systems and associatedprogramme designs, to allow for the assessment of both localized ambientimpacts/exposure levels of contaminants caused by private or public sectoractivities, and/or the assessment of typical air contaminant levels within aregion or district;
Prepareassessments and or design of air quality monitoring systems for clients;
Developingand implementing the strategic direction for the air quality team, and thewider Golder business within the region;
Buildingand managing existing client relationships, and developing new commercialopportunities;
Identifyingsafety hazards and reporting OH&S incidents including fostering a healthand safety culture with the team.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Master’s degree in Science or higher, including demonstrated experience in the air quality field within industry, transport and domestic emissions.
Sound knowledge in meteorological principals including meso and micro scale processes, mathematics and applied statistics, air dispersion mechanisms and atmospheric chemistry;
High level of proficiency in writing communications and reports, and the use of spreadsheets and systematic data and file management;
Demonstrated experience in support and mentioning teams to grow to their full potential;
Proficient in the use of air quality models, databases and analytical programmes;
High attention to detail, excellent problem solving and analytical skills coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills;
