Golder Associates Desktop Support Analyst in Belo Horizonte, Brazil

The purpose of the Desktop Support Analyst is to support the “end-user computing” environment.

Candidates must be fluent in English (mostly oral but also in writing). The candidate will participate in Skype chats and occasional meetings in English, and the support tickets will generally be in English. CV´s should be in English [Mandatory to be considered for the role]

Working in the Global Desktop Support team, the Desktop Support Analyst will provide user-facing desktop support, computer provisioning and deployment services, and focus on offering excellent customer service, in particular for remote locations where there is no on-site IT support.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct the installation, configuration and deployment of Windows end-user operating systems – currently Windows 10;

  2. Perform PC hardware installation and troubleshooting;

  3. As part of the deployment task, conduct full user-state migration;

  4. Provide application installation and support;

  5. Resolve support issues that are assigned to desktop support from the Golder Global Helpdesk and;

  6. Adhere to published SLAs to ensure all tickets are resolved in a timely manner

  7. Many Golder locations do not have IT support resources, and so remote support will be undertaken. However, there will be occasions when national and international travel will be necessary when on-site support is required;

  8. Display a ‘safety first’ attitude in line with an interdependent health and safety culture, promote positive health and safety, raise safety issues through the appropriate channels and adhere to Golder health and safety policies and procedures;

  9. Act in the spirit of Golder’s values and do not misinterpret their meaning. Adhere to the Code of Conduct at all times and raise concerns as appropriate. Regularly familiarise self with the Code of Conduct and how it is applicable to own role/position within Golder; and;

  10. Ensure actions and behaviours are aligned to Golder’s Equality Policy at all times.

  11. This job description describes the principal purpose and main elements of the role. It is a guide to the nature of the main duties as they currently exist but it is not intended as a wholly comprehensive or permanent schedule of tasks. The post holder is expected to work flexibly and respond positively to changing business needs.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  1. Educated to high school level, with a recognised qualification in at least one subject of a scientific or technical nature, ideally computer studies (or equivalent).

  2. A minimum of 3 years in an IT support role, ideally end-user focussed, and within the engineering consultancy industry.

  3. Excellent knowledge of end-user computer hardware, including workstations, monitors, notebooks/laptops, printers and peripherals;

  4. Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system, common applications, specifically Microsoft Office 365, and other popular computer software;

  5. Experience of Incident management using a recognised ticketing system;

  6. Excellent troubleshooting skills;

  7. Self-motivated and focussed, able to work independently;

  8. Experience of working in a remotely managed and structured, team-orientated, collaborative environment;

  9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;

  10. Good attention to detail;

  11. Analytical, problem-solving approach;

  12. Full driving licence; and

  13. Willingness and ability to travel, and potentially internationally.

Desirable

  1. A good understanding of computer networks;

  2. A good understanding of Microsoft Server Operating Systems;

  3. Previous experience supporting Engineering applications (Bentley, Autodesk, ESRI)

  4. An understanding of ITIL Service Management, and;

  5. Additional language skills.
