Golder has a new opportunity for a Field Technician to join the Bismarck, ND to help support an ongoing oil and gas pipeline construction inspection project as described further below. The Field Technician will be dedicated full-time to this ongoing pipeline inspection project.
Responsibilities of the rolewill include:
Conducting construction storm waterpollution prevention plan (SWPPP) inspections for approximately 90-miles ofpipeline right-of-ways (ROWs).Inspection frequency is at least once every 14 calendar days and within24 hours of a 0.25-inch storm event or greater.
Documenting inspection results andidentifying corrective action requirements for erosion and sediment controlsalong pipeline ROWs.
Working closely with contractors andsenior Golder staff to ensure and document corrective actions are performed inthe required timeframe.
Understanding regulatory permits forstorm water discharges associated with construction activities.
Reporting of inspection activitiesutilizing standard forms and software.
Maintaining deliverables for theproject in an organized manner.
SWPPP inspections will occur on theFort Berthold Indian Reservation and Bakken shale region in western ND.
Ability to work alone in field settingswith minimal oversight.
Otherduties as assigned.
The successful candidatewill have a background in:
Highly organized and reliable.
Field and/or construction experience isstrongly preferred.
Position requires understanding of erosionand sediment controls, a background in earthworks construction, and ability towork quickly with computers and handheld devices.
Travel in the state of North Dakota,including travel for extended assignments, is required.
Report writing and field & constructiondocumentation skills are required.
The ability to communicateconstructively with contractors, owners, and senior Golder personnel isessential.
Current OSHA certifications preferred.
