Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities are to include the following:

  • Execute and field manage solid waste construction quality assurance projects, with senior technical advice and review;

  • Prepare construction documentation and investigation reports;

  • Prepare engineering calculations and conduct modeling;

  • Serve as a resident engineer / site lead for construction quality assurance;

  • Ability to work with a team or with minimal supervision, and with contractors and cross-discipline in-house designers;

  • Be willing and able to work on projects involving landfills and other lined structures, underground facilities, and other civil applications;

  • Assist with writing proposals, reports, cost estimating, specifications, and permit documents with senior technical advice and review.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in soil mechanics, hydraulics and hydrology. Prior experience, including internships, on active landfill construction projects or civil engineering related projects are a plus.

The candidate shall have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent analytical abilities, leadership ability, and a positive attitude;

  • Ability to work both independently and within groups;

  • Competence in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is necessary;

  • Competence with AutoCAD software platform is preferred;

  • Ability to obtain EIT within 2 years required.

Qualified candidates will have excellent technical competency and skills to perform:

  • Storm water flow and retention calculations;

  • Construction project scheduling and estimating;

  • Survey and topographic mapping; and

  • Pumping and piping design calculations.
