Golder has a new opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our team in Mount Laurel, New Jersey or Bristol, Pennsylvania, on a full-time basis. We are seeking either entry-level candidates or individuals with a few years of engineering-related experience. The successful candidate would join a team who provide civil engineering services to a range of clients with a primary focus on landfills and environmental site remediation.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Perform civil engineering design calculations and modeling, including stormwater hydrology and hydraulics, geotechnical analyses, geosynthetic design, and pump and pipe analyses.
Prepare construction documents including engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
Conduct field assignments such as groundwater and/or soil sampling, borehole logging, test pit logging, site reconnaissance, and construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring to support project specific data collection requirements.
Assist with writing proposals, reports, cost estimating, specifications, and permit documents with senior technical advice and review.
Be willing and able to work on projects involving landfills and other lined structures, underground facilities, and other civil applications.
Work with a team or with minimal supervision, and with contractors and cross-discipline in-house designers.
Project assignments may include local, national, and international travel with possible short-term or long-term assignments at project sites.
The successful candidate may possess the following preferred skills and qualifications:
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with an emphasis insoil mechanics, hydraulics and hydrology.
Prior experience, including internships, on active landfill construction projects or civil engineering related projects are a plus;
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is required on some sites; preferential consideration for candidates with this training;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent analytical abilities, leadership ability, and a positive attitude;
Strong computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and or various engineering software;
Ability to obtain EIT within 2 years required.
