Responsibilities of the role will include:
The prospective Engineer Co-Op will assist with various civil and geotechnical projects inour Mount Laurel, New Jersey operations. Assignment may include working in ourBristol, Pennsylvania in addition to our main office located in Mount Laurel,New Jersey.
Position will include both office and fieldwork on variedprojects and may include learning opportunities in, but not necessarily belimited to, solid waste landfill design, permitting, and construction qualityassurance (CQA) inspection; geotechnical investigations and analyses; remedialinvestigation/remedial designs; and other civil engineering projects.
Officeassignments may include performing and checking engineering calculationsassociated with stormwater and geotechnical design, preparing graphs and tablesusing Microsoft Excel, and assisting in the preparation of various engineeringreports and documents.
Field assignments may include CQA inspection of wastecontainment systems and geotechnical monitoring of solid waste disposal areas,subsurface investigations, environmental sampling, and operations/maintenanceof remedial systems.
The successful candidate will have a background in:
Qualified candidates must currently be enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program at Drexel University in engineering with an emphasis in civil, geotechnical, environmental, or related engineering field;
Preferred candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with leadership ability and a positive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and in groups;
Completion of introductory geotechnical, engineering geology, hydrology, and environmental engineering courses would be helpful but not required.
Prior co-operative education experience would also be a plus, but is not required, and will partially dictate work assignments.
