Golder Associates Regional Desktop Support Team Lead in Budapest, Hungary

We are looking for a Regional Desktop Support Team Lead on a full-time basis to be based out of our site in Budapest . The purpose of the role is to support the “end-user computing” environment, both in terms of managing the in-region team of Desktop Support Analysts, continuing to provide end-user support and be a point of escalation, working closely with management to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions.

Working in the Global Desktop Support team, the Regional Lead Desktop Support Analyst will lead the Europe and Africa regional day-to-day operations of a multi-person group of IT professionals providing user-facing desktop support, computer provisioning and deployment services as well as focusing on offering excellent internal customer service

Primarily, for Golder locations across the region, remote support will be undertaken. There will be occasions when national and international travel will be necessary when on-site support is required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the Desktop Support Service Team for the region

• Continuous development of the function and team to meet company strategies and goals

• Promoting seamless integration with the Global Helpdesk

• Maintaining IT documentation to a high standard

• Liaison with other regional and Global IT Service teams at Golder

• Promoting excellent IT internal customer services in all reginal locations

• Conduct the installation, configuration and deployment of Windows end-user operating systems – currently Windows 10

• Perform laptop, workstation and mobile device hardware installation and troubleshooting

• Provide professional application installation and support

• Oversee hardware and software ordering from approved vendors

• Escalation point for support issues that are assigned to desktop support from the Golder Global Helpdesk

• Adhere to Golder Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policy and procedures

• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and raise concerns as appropriate

• Ensure actions and behaviours are always aligned to Golder’s Business Ethics policies

Skills & Qualifications:

Relevant experience :

• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system, common applications, specifically Microsoft Office 365, and other common computer software

• Experience of Incident management using recognised ticketing systems

• Experience of working in a remotely managed and structured, team-orientated, collaborative environment

• Excellent troubleshooting skills

• Experience from ensuring SLAs are adhered to


• College or University education background, with a recognised qualification in IT / computer studies (or equivalent)

• A minimum of 5 years in an IT support role, ideally end-user focussed, and preferably from a knowledge-based company

• Proven track record of leading a team with proven people and stakeholder management skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (in English)


• A good understanding of computer networks

• A good understanding of Microsoft Server Operating Systems

• An understanding of ITIL Service Management

• Previous experience supporting Engineering applications (Bentley, Autodesk, ESRI)

• Additional language skills (French, Italian, German or Spanish)

• Driving license
