We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer on a full-time basis to be based out of our site in Budapest.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support existing enterprise network systems and provide regular metrics for network availability and bandwidth usage and other metrics

• Participate in the development, deployment and operation of new SD-WAN platform to support a broad range of business and technical initiatives

• Monitor and maintain network interfaces to ensure its highest level of performance and make modifications and enhancements within a change management approval process

• Use network management tools to discover, map, and maintain the network

• Maintain responsibility for network equipment operating system (OS) version upgrades

• Manage EOL process and technology refresh for network hardware and software

• Liaison with other regional and Global IT Service teams at Golder

• Adhere to Golder Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policy and procedures

• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and raise concerns as appropriate

• Ensure actions and behaviours are always aligned to Golder’s Business Ethics policies

• Mentor and coach junior colleagues

Skills & Qualifications:

Relevant experience:

• Experience from working in a large, global enterprise network environment, providing network configuration and troubleshooting support

• Experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms (IOS, IOS XE and NexusOS)

• Experience with advanced troubleshooting of data centre technologies including VDCs, and VRFs, as well as troubleshooting routing IGP and EGP such as OSPF, EIGRP and BGP

• Experience with LAN/WAN interfacing – Including Software defined network, SD-WAN, and Cloud connectivity

• Experience performing network packet inspection and traffic analysis

• Ability to document procedures and keep network diagrams and other documentation up to date

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification

Essential:

• A combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent

• 8 years of professional experience as a network engineer managing enterprise networks and data centres

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (in English)

Desirable:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching certification strongly preferred

• Experience with Cisco SD-WAN platform (Viptela)

• Experience with Cisco telephony technologies (Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Border Element)

• Experience with Cisco DMVPN and other IPSEC technologies

• Experience with Cisco ASA and Firepower firewall platforms

• Experience with Cisco ISE and ACS

• Experience with Cisco wireless technologies

• Experience with F5 BIG-IP load balancers

• Experience with Audiocodes SBC platform

• Experience with Cisco DNA Center platform

• Experience with QOS and voice traffic optimization for Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams and CUCM

• An understanding of ITIL Service Management

• Additional language skills (French, Italian, German or Spanish)
