Golder has a new opportunity for a Facilities Coordinator to join Golder on a full-time basis based in Burnaby.
An overview of your role will include:
Perform minor building and property maintenance and repairs
Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on testing equipment with guidance from Lab Technicians as required
Review work orders to ensure assignments are completed with accuracy and timeliness
Schedule and assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing, HVAC repairs and vendors (waste disposal, coffee service, janitorial, etc.)
Identify and report the need for major repairs
Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. properly dispose of recycling in the yard, shoveling snow, taking vehicles in for maintenance)
Oversee building security
Respond promptly to property related issues (regardless of time of day)
Perform routine facility inspections for conformance with operational and safety requirements and standards
Interact professionally with the vendors and staff; maintain effective working relationships and work in cooperation with the site management team to effectively meet client and company objectives
Informs and confers with supervisor to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations
Oversees and support sample movement, storage, and disposal throughout the facility for multiple technical groups
Coordinate samples received including filling out chain-of-custodies, entry into central database (ESIS)
Supporting the Warehouse Coordinators with shipping and receiving, order preparation and field equipment repair and maintenance
You will have a background in:
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
Basic math skills
Good communication ability
Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
Attention to detail
Class 5 Driver’s License
