The Prairies and North Water Group is currently seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer for water resources related projects for our Calgary, Edmonton or Saskatoon office . You will provide engineering, planning, design, and construction related expertise for water resources, civil engineering and environmental projects.
An overview of your role will include:
Complete the full cycle of conceptual, preliminary and detail design, and construction support for projects related to river engineering, water resources engineering, surface water diversions, hydraulic structures, water intakes, mine water infrastructure and erosion control
Prepare technical memos, reports and proposals
Manage multiple project deadlines, budgets and scope changes
Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams, collaborate and work efficiently with engineers, scientists and managers at all levels, and communicate effectively with clients
Offer innovative solutions to clients through business development initiatives
Develop and sustain positive business relationships
Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
Bachelor or Master Degree in Civil Engineering (with experience or a focus on water resources, dams, hydraulic structures, river engineering or water management)
Must be a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta or eligible for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer in Alberta
7 years minimum related experience
Experience with tendering and construction administration would be an asset
Experience with dam safety would be an asset
Good communication, leadership, problem solving, mentoring, writing and people skills
Exhibit a strong work ethic and a high degree of motivation
Team player with the ability to motivate and lead by example
Experience with writing proposals and technical memos and reports
