Golder has a new opportunity for Intermediate to Senior Aquatic Technicians to join our Biophysical team based in Edmonton, Calgary, or Saskatoon.
An overview of your role will include:
Preparing and adhering to site-specific health and safety plans to mitigate or eliminate risks to you, Golder's clients, employees, and the public
Participating in fieldwork or office assignments
Working individually or within multi-disciplinary teams
Interacting with clients and contractors
Recording and managing project-related field data and notes and assisting with deliverable preparation
Completing tasks efficiently while adhering to current industry standards and regulatory requirements
You will have a background in:
Technical diploma or degree
Experience with aquatics fieldwork and field data collection, with a minimum of five years of experience
Prior consulting and environmental monitoring experience is an asset
A positive and enthusiastic attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work with minimal supervision and lead field teams
Proficiency with Microsoft software
Strong awareness of health and safety issues and a safety-conscious attitude
Self-motivated and demonstrate strong time management skills
Willingness to travel and participate in fieldwork (including overtime hours)
Ability to work in a dynamic environment
Willingness to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
Willing to participate in remote fieldwork and be able to adapt to unpredictable and/or inclement field conditions and changing schedules. Must be willing to be away from home for extended periods of time
Strong outdoor skills, experience working in remote areas, and experience and required certifications for operating field equipment including boats, ATVs, snowmobiles, GPS, water, and sediment sampling equipment
Experience and willingness to travel and work out of remote locations for extended periods
A valid driver’s license
A Pleasure Craft Operator Card
Knowledge of federal and provincial regulatory and permitting requirements for developments in or near water
Experience on multi-disciplinary projects including wildlife, vegetation and soils experience
