Golder has a new opportunity for a JuniorHydrogeologist to join our Water team on a full-time basis based in Calgary.
An overview of your role willinclude:
Fieldwork covering a broad range of technical services in the field of hydrogeology,including involvement in the groundwater component of Environmental ImpactAssessments for the oil sands and mining industries; baseline hydrogeologicalstudies, mine dewatering projects, and ground water supply development
Fieldwork is associated with hydrogeological projects, including ground waterinvestigations, ground water sampling, pumping tests, drilling, design,installation and testing of supply and site characterization/investigations
Willingnessto travel and participate in remote field work and rotational field programs,primarily within western and northern Canada and the ability to adapt tounpredictable and/or inclement field conditions and changing schedules
Workas a crew leader for planning, logistics, and equipment calibration
Responsiblefor personal and team safety during field operations
Dataentry of field data collection
Solidorganizational skills (prioritization, time management, record keeping, followup, tracking)
Validdriver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (if hired, a driver’sabstract is required)
Developpositive working relationships in a team environment
Understand,follow, and participate in Golder’s health and safety programs
Quantitativeskills, resourcefulness, and attention to detail
Havean understanding of the principles of hydrogeology
You will have a background in:
Atechnical diploma in environmental science or equivalent from an accreditedcollege or university, or a university degree in science
Minimum1 year of relevant experience
Understandingof basic drilling, waterwell installation and testing and water samplingtechniques
