Golder Associates’ continued growth has resulted in the need for a JuniorProject Mining Engineer to join our community of high performing engineers, scientists, and business professionals. This opportunity will be based in our Calgary, Alberta office. Our clients in the global mining industry expect the best from us and you will help us deliver it by providing high‑calibre technical solutions for the development of mineral projects in a safe, cost-effective, and responsible manner.

Anoverview of your role will include:

  • Demonstratinga “Safety First” focus;

  • Conductinga full range of mine engineering functions;

  • Performingstrategic modeling, design and engineering analyses duties, includinginteractive mine design and sequencing utilizing various mine modelingsoftware packages. This willrequire working on projects with some supervision;

  • ApplyingGolder’s Project Management standards to manage all aspects of projects;

  • Workingcollaboratively with engineers and technical staff to develop the skillsand procedures needed to effectively deliver engineering and consultingassignments;

  • Maintaininga balance of at least 85% chargeable hours;

  • Learningto identify, develop, and follow through on new business opportunities;

  • Continuallyapplying a high standard of ethical behaviour to promote and supportGolder’s Core Values and Culture.

Yourbackground will include:

  • ABachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering;

  • Registration,or the ability to register, as a Professional Engineer or Engineer inTraining (EIT) in Canada;

  • Aminimum of 3-5 years relevant experience with an emphasis on open pit mineplanning, design and scheduling.Oil sands, mine operations, and underground mining experience areassets.

  • Previousexperience as a consulting engineer or with a technical services rolewithin a mining company;

  • Previousexperience working on technical mining projects and contributing totechnical reports;

  • Appropriateexperience in utilizing mine planning, design and scheduling softwarepackages such as MineScape, MineSight 3D, Vulcan, Surpac, Deswick,Datamine, Gemcom, Mine 2-4D, and EPS;

  • Fluencyin English with fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Spanish,Portuguese) considered an asset;

  • Excellentcommunication skills including report writing and presentation skills;

  • Theability to travel internationally and to remote project locations.
