Golder has a new opportunity for an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Practitioner with a specialization in successfully leading projects in the infrastructure sector; specifically, road, rail and transit projects to join Golder on a full time basis.

Delivery of a variety of ESIA’s to our clients is a major and rapidly growing service within Golder. We are seeking a highly successful, enthusiastic and ambitious individual join our team. You will manage ESIA studies and grow our infrastructure environmental services.

An overview of your role will include:

Project management of a variety of ESIAs within the transportation sector; ensuring that high-quality deliverables are provided within budget and on schedule

  • Technical proficiency in writing and reviewing ESIA reports and related deliverables

  • Leading all project related communications within multi-disciplinary technical teams, the public, Indigenous communities and key regulatory stakeholders

  • Leading all client communications, providing guidance on requirements related to ESIAs and managing client expectations

  • Building strong, lasting relationships with clients, and developing new business opportunities in the transportation infrastructure sector

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental planning, Urban planning, Environmental Engineering, or similar relevant technical profession

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of ESIA experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in successfully managing ESIA studies and leading multi-disciplinary technical teams and sub-consultants

  • Professional experience working on ESIAs related to transportation infrastructure projects, including but not limited to the Transportation Project Assessment Process, Municipal Class EA, and/or Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) Class EA for Provincial Transportation facilities

  • Effective communicator of technical project related information with the public, Indigenous communities and key regulatory stakeholders

  • Professional experience in writing proposals, technical memos, letters, presentation materials and environmental reports; a writing sample will be required

  • A strong understanding of the Canadian and/or Provincial ESIA legislation

  • Successful track record of marketing consulting services

  • MTO Registry Appraisal and Qualification System (RAQS) certification, or the capacity to be certified

  • Professional designation in their associated field (i.e., RPP, P.Eng.)

  • Ability to function in a team setting, accept responsibility and work to deadlines
