Golder has a new opportunity for an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our Environment team on a full-time basis based in our Christchurch office.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Completing groundwater evaluations for environmental impact assessments, environmental permitting and environmental compliance reporting
Developing conceptual and numerical groundwater models using hydrogeological modelling software and analytical tools
Preparing technical reports, including the analysis and interpretation of technical data
Undertaking field work including site visits, setting up monitoring sites and equipment, completing sampling programmes, aquifer testing and well installation, supported by senior staff
Interpreting environmental regulations and investigation results to meet client requirements
Assisting with the preparation of expert evidence for presentation to decision-making authorities
Assisting with business development for the Environment Team including developing and maintaining client relationships and preparing project proposals
Providing guidance and mentoring support to junior staff
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Tertiary qualified in engineering or earth sciences whilst a post graduate qualification would be highly desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong applied computer skills, preferably familiar with desktop GIS, geological and groundwater modelling software
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivation, exceptional attention to detail and technical accuracy.
An ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive professional relationships within Golder
