Golder is seeking a Graduate Civil/Geotechnical Engineering to join our Columbus, Ohio office. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for work on pipeline hazards, mining, solid waste, and power industry projects in the Great Lakes Region.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Work with project teams on geological and geotechnical engineering projects that involve CAD Design, construction oversight, field work, data evaluation, engineering analysis and report preparation
Conduct field assignments, such as site mapping, drilling supervision, borehole logging, test pit logging, site reconnaissance, and construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring
Prepare construction documents including engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents
Prepare engineering data reports, calculations and modeling for stormwater, geotechnical, waste management, and utility projects
Project assignments may include local, national, and international travel (>50% of the time) with possible short-term or long-term assignments at project sites
Summarize the findings of the field assignments for input into engineering reports
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office)
Familiar with engineering field skills such as field measurement and geological mapping, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling
Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and a positive attitude, as well as the ability to work both independently and on team
Willingness to obtain 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training certification and to work on sites that are potentially impacted by releases of regulated chemicals
Ability to be comfortable in remote settings and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks on short notice to satisfy project demands
Master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
Experience with industry standard commercial computer software including AutoCAD and other various engineering software
