Golder has a new opportunity for a Geotechnical DesignEngineer to join our Shafts and Tunnels Team on a full time basis located in Doncaster.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Geotechnical analysis anddesign including numerical modelling

  • Assisting in the deliveryof engineering projects

  • Managing client/customer relationships, l iaising with clients, subcontractors and other external design teams

  • Engineering deliverables anddeveloping engineering solutions - Design Calculations, Reports, Presentations,Drawings

  • Conductingengineering research & development tasks

  • Undertakingproject fieldwork / site visits where required, working away both in the UK andinternationally

  • Workingin a collaborative way, taking direction from and supporting intermediate andsenior staff, to achieve project goals

  • Assistingsenior staff as required

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Degreein a relevant subject e.g. Civil / Mining Engineering, Engineering Geology,MEng/MSc in relevant Geotechnical / Geomechanical field

  • Minimumtwo years engineering experience, post graduation

  • Abilityto work in a collaborative manner as part of a team

  • Flexibilityand adaptability

  • Analyticalapproach to problem-solving

  • Agenuine enthusiasm for the role, displaying a willingness to learn and develop

  • Commitmentto work towards CEng status

  • Goodorganisational ability and time management skills

  • Strongunderstanding of geotechnical principles

  • Understandingof engineering drawings and the ability to manipulate CAD drawings

  • Excellentverbal and written English

  • Strongtechnical writing ability and reporting skills

  • Abilityto make decisions and display initiative

  • Goodorganisational ability and time management skills

  • Proficientin the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Flexibility,willingness and ability to travel both locally and internationally

  • Familiarwith design codes of practice and have the ability to work in amulti-disciplinary team

  • Previousexperience working on projects for underground structures would be beneficial
