Golder has a new opportunity for an HSSEAdvisor to join our HSSE team on a full-time basis based in Calgary, Edmonton or Saskatoon. This role provides advice, coaching, and mentoring to all staff levels at the project, group and office levels. This position reports directly to the HSSE Operations Leader for Canada and is part of a broader team throughout Canada that works to ensure that HSSE is delivered in a consistent and technically excellent manner.
An overview of yourrole will include:
Liaisewith the employees of the assigned operational group(s).
Solicitinput from employees, supervisors and leaders and ensure their understandingand application of the HSSE system
Provideinput for ongoing HSSE communications within the assigned groups, and HSSECommittees including incident information, alerts, safety shares, HSSE metrics,trends, and activities to internal stakeholders
Communicatefeedback, including opportunities for improvement of HSSE systems from the Committee(s)and Group(s) to the HSSE teams
FacilitateHSSE orientations and other training for new employees as required
Reviewcontent of and advise employees on external HSSE training resources
Communicateand support global programs and requirements within the assigned Groups
Assistin the achievement of regulatory compliance through knowledge in applicable OHSand Environmental legislation and regulation, industry best practices andstandards
Participatein the completion, review, and communication of incident investigations asrequired by OHS regulation and Golder’s Global HSSE Management System
Conductinspections and audits of worksites including offices, warehouses, labs, andproject sites at locations throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the NorthwestTerritories
You will have abackground in:
Post-secondarydiploma or degree in HSSE or related science preferred
Expertknowledge and competency in Alberta/Saskatchewan/NWT legislation
CanadianRegistered Safety Professional designation (or other professional E/OHSdesignation) or working towards meeting eligibility requirements
3-10years combined experience
Experiencein consulting engineering, construction, mining and/or oil and gas sectors isan asset
Experiencewith recognized management systems (OSHAS 18000, ISO 14001, COR) and auditingcertifications
Excellentverbal and written communication skills
Goodproblem solver with the ability to identify multiple potential solutions for agiven challenge
Self-starterand highly motivated
Availableto travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories forextended periods in support of field programs and offices
Availablefor extended working hours when required
Validdriver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
