Golder has a new opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior Aquatics Technician to join our Biophysical team on a full-time basis based in Edmonton, Calgary or Saskatoon.

An overview of yourrole will include:

  • Workingindependently or within multi-disciplinary teams

  • Participationin aquatic assessments for various types of developments including rail, power,mines, oil and gas facilities, infrastructure, and pipelines

  • Interactingwith clients, contactors, and representatives from regulatory agencies within avariety of settings

  • Environmentalmonitoring for a variety of projects including power, pipelines, raildevelopment and construction projects

  • Leadingor assisting with crews and field programs in aquatic biology (e.g., fish andfish habitat data, collection of water quality, benthic invertebrates, etc.)

  • Preparingwritten material on time, within scope, and within budget

  • Participationin Golder and client health and safety programs

You will have abackground in:

  • Adegree or diploma related to aquatic biology with at least five years ofrelated experience

  • Strongwritten and interpersonal communication skills with particular attention todetail and accuracy of field notes

  • Experiencein a variety of aquatics field work and field data collection using a varietyof fish collection methods

  • Experiencein environmental monitoring on construction sites

  • Strongoutdoor skills, experience working in remote areas, and experience withoperating field equipment including boats, ATVs, snowmobiles, GPS, water andsediment sampling equipment

  • Willingto travel and work out of remote locations for extended periods

  • Willingnessto perform physically demanding work in a variety of conditions

  • Avalid driver’s license
