Golder Associates Inc. has an opening for an Entry Level Engineer/Scientist to support our air, noise, and environmental consulting practice in the Gainesville, Florida office. This is a full-time position where the successful candidate will work with Golder scientists and engineers to assist clients in multiple industries, including manufacturing, power generation, oil and gas, pulp & paper, and mining.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with mid-level and senior air quality engineers and scientists to support a wide variety of projects that involve –

  • Calculation of air emissions using emission factors and stack test data,

  • Determine compliance with air quality permit requirements

  • Preparing air permit applications, reports, and proposals

  • Air pollution regulatory analyses,

  • Analysis of air emissions data from continuous monitors,

  • Spreadsheet calculations, and

  • Air pollution dispersion modeling

  • Contact regulatory agencies, review state rules related to air quality, and understand state specific air permitting requirements

  • Work in a team and interact with peers to develop strategies that can provide solutions to complex project issues based on the regulatory framework

The minimum requirements of this position include:

  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering or equivalent engineeringor Environmental Science studies (M.S. degree is preferred)

  • Significant course work in air pollution engineering,atmospheric sciences, and related environmental programs.

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)(bi-lingual experiences, especially knowledge of Spanish speaking, reading andwriting, is preferred)

  • Strong database (Microsoft Access) and spreadsheet skills(Microsoft Excel)

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally

  • Ability to work efficiently and independently in anunsupervised office environment
