Golder Associates Air Quality Engineering Intern in GAINESVILLE, Florida

Golder Associates is now offering a great opportunity for an Air Quality Engineering Intern to join our growing Florida air quality practice. In this role you will have the opportunity to support US based as well as international air quality projects. Under the direction of seasoned air quality professionals, you will have opportunities to:

  • Help to develop air permit applications for various industry sectors (e.g. Oil & Gas, Power, Refining, Chemical Manufacturing, etc.)

  • Perform air pollutant emission rate calculations for air permitting, annual emission inventory reporting, and other licensing and reporting.

  • Support dispersion modeling projects

  • Calculating greenhouse gas (GHG) emission rates and ensuring compliance with GHG programs;

  • Providing onsite client support (corporate office or industrial facility), as needed

  • Other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Currently enrolled Junior or Senior college student studying Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or related discipline;

  • A strong interest in the air quality field;

  • An exposure to federal laws and regulations pertaining to air quality issues is a plus;

  • Some knowledge with industrial processes and emission estimation techniques is strongly desired;

  • An understanding of dispersion theory or experience with various dispersion models is preferred;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required;

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;

  • Self-disciplined, self-motivated, with exceptional attention to detail and technical accuracy;

  • Positive attitude to learning new skills;
