Golder’s Florida Ecology Team is seeking an experienced senior ecologist to join our team working on a range of power and infrastructure projects. Project work will be varied, covering a broad range of ecological and environmental permitting services.

Key Work Areas:

  • Stateand federal wetland delineation in Florida, including jurisdictionaldeterminations, functional assessments, and mitigation proposals

  • Preparationof FDEP Environmental Resource Permit and USACE Section 404 permit applications

  • Preparationof Section 404(b)(1) Alternatives Analysis reports to support USACE permitting

  • Threatenedand endangered species surveys and evaluations

  • USFWSSection 7 consultation, including preparation of Biological Assessments andnegotiation of conservation measures

  • Aquaticbiomonitoring, including seagrass surveys

  • Proposaland technical report preparation

  • Interactingwith clients and sub-consultants

  • Regulatoryagency coordination

  • Deliveringmid to complex projects on time and within budget

  • Supportingand mentoring junior staff members

The successful candidate shall be self-motivated, confident and affable with the desire to develop as an individual and build successful working relationships with colleagues and clients.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Appropriate BS

  • At least 10 years of professional experience

  • Specific environmental permitting experiencefor power industry clients: transmission lines, new generation (solar,natural gas), natural gas pipelines, water pipelines

  • Experiencein field work, wetland delineation, and listed species survey techniques

  • Fluencyin regulatory agency guidelines in the state of Florida (FDEP, FWC, USACE,USFWS)

  • Capableof producing clear and concise written documents

  • Highlyorganized and able to prioritize own and others workload

  • Capableof working independently and effectively with in team

  • Demonstrateattention to detail and a high level of accuracy

  • Self-motivated,reliable and dedicated individual


  • MSc degree
