Golder is currently seeking a Summer Intern to work as an Engineering Technician for a project managed from Golder’s Buffalo, NY office. This work entails working outside at a project site near Rochester, NY from May to September 2019. The successful candidate will participate in an engineering project that involves construction inspection, material testing, and other field investigations. The work entails a variety of outdoor “hands-on” activities, with a need to carefully follow instructions, document activities, and at times requires problem solving and proactive communication.
Responsibilities of the rolewill include:
Documenting field activities (e.g., field forms,field notebooks, daily reports)
Communicating site conditions, observations, andactivities with project and task managers
Assist in report writing and assembly, data management, drafting
Handling equipment, including maintenance,calibration to operational and regulatory requirements, and occasionally carryingloads of approximately 50lbs
Operating field vehicles on behalf of thecompany
Safely performing work
The successful candidate willpossess:
Minimum of 2 years in a Bachelor’s Degree program in science,preferably with an emphasis in engineering or related field
Local candidate to Rochester, New York, area only; relocation isnot available for this position
Willingness to work in variable climatic conditions
Strong attention to detail; accuracy isessential
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, experience with AutoCADand databases preferred
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training preferred
Troxler training preferred
