Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Project EHS Consultant to support a remote team of EHS professionals based out of the Midwest .
The ideal candidate will have experience with managing environmental, health & safety (EHS) projects, conducting EHS tasks at industrial facilities and performing due diligence services. He or she will work independently while supporting a group of highly engaged EHS professionals at Golder.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Conducting field assignments, such as performing EHS compliance audits, chemical inventory assessments, job hazard assessments, aspect and impact assessments, EHS risk assessments and other similar assignments
Performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
Developing, supporting, and implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 EHS management systems
Providing EHS compliance program support for industrial clients including developing procedures and permits, preparing and submitting periodic regulatory reports, and preparing and conducting EHS training programs
Preparing technical reports, including documentation of audits and field investigative procedures, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data
Managing tasks and projects according to client-approved scope of services, and delivering high quality reports on time and within budget
Local and national travel (up to 50% of the time) as required for project needs and business development purposes
Conducting visual inspections at industrial facilities
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar discipline
Minimum 5-8 years EHS experience with a working knowledge of federal, state, and local (Industrial Hygiene/EHS/Due Diligence) regulations, including those related to EHS assessments and programs
Excellent verbal, writing, and organizational skills combined with leadership ability, a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups
Strong attention to detail; accuracy is essential
Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program, per specific client requirements.
Self-sufficient, self-motivated and ability to work under pressure of deadlines is essential.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Understanding the importance of health & safety as a top priority and an enthusiasm to participate in Golder’s associated programs
Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, PE, CHMM or equivalent
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Materials Shipping Training, CPR/First Aid/AED
Audits and EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)
Experience performing Phase I ESAs and environmental media sampling
Developing and auditing EHS programs in manufacturing settings
Environmental permitting and reporting
Business development and client service management with a proven track record of developing project opportunities and maintaining successful client relationships
Strong existing client relationships and professional contacts
