Golder has a new opportunity for a Staff EnvironmentalField Technician to join our team in a Full-Time position at our Houston,Texas office (two possible locations). The position will require the candidate to conduct field work according to work plans, Health and Safety plans, and Standard Operating Procedures for site investigation, remediation, and environmental construction projects at industrial/mining sites.
Yourprimary responsibilities will include:
Conduct field work, including soil,sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling and monitoring.
Operate and maintain groundwatertreatment systems.
Perform maintenance, troubleshoot,repair, and install mechanical systems associated with site remediationsystems.
Oversee remedial construction projectsand perform CQA.
Perform field measurements andcalculations.
Record and compile field data.
Perform assigned office duties, such asdata entry, borehole logs, statistical analysis, and graphical presentation ofdata.
Work in a safe manner, including dailypreparation of safety observations.
Coordinate and communicate with clientrepresentatives, subcontractors, and Golder employees.
Highschool diploma or equivalent.
3years of hands-on field experience, including familiarity / experience withsoil and groundwater sampling techniques and field procedures as well as remediationconstruction QA/oversight.
40-hourOSHA HAZWOPER certification
Abilityto independently complete field assignments and summarize field data for use inreporting.
Willingness/interestin field assignments and traveling to project sites; minimum of 75% field workwith periodic overnight travel.
Computerliteracy, including proficient MS Office skills.
Strongcommitment to safety, including following established Health and Safetyprotocols.
Stronginitiative (self-starter), problem-solving and communication skills, andattention to detail and QA/QC.
- Two-yeartechnical degree in the field of engineering, environmental monitoring, orequivalent.
