Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a National Health and Safety Consulting - Practice Leader forour Houston, TX office that will report into the Director of Major Client Programs.In the role ofNational Health and Safety Consulting - Practice Leader youwill be responsible for both inside and outside sales, acting as the technical authority and delivering support to internal and external clients in energy, oil and gas, federal, state and local entities, chemical, manufacturing, and mining industries, which will include the following responsibilities but not limited to;

  • Leading the development and implementation initiative of the global health and safety practice.

  • Collaborating with multi‐disciplined business development teams, consultants, technical specialists, group leaders, peers and clients to mature, implement, onboard resources

  • Maintain sales and delivery processes to mitigate risks

  • Manage market share and grow the Golder’s service offering portfolio to increase revenue streams and profitability.

  • Champion policy reform, process standardization, and key stakeholder engagement

  • Engage with clients to help design and implement health and safety processes and programs, develop strategies, address leadership behaviors, design and implement EHS management systems and audit programs to support sustainable performance excellence while driving cultural improvements.

  • Actively mentor staff and front‐line supervisors to develop their leadership skills necessary to improve their organizational culture.

  • Develop and deliver impactful presentations and training sessions to senior executives, subject matter experts, technical specialists, front‐line leaders and operators, contractors, and clients to help share knowledge and learnings, build competencies, strengthen the organization’s reputation and brand image, develop client relationships, and identify opportunities

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 20 years’ working experience in a health, safety, compliance and quality leadership role within a consultancy in the oil and gas, manufacturing and/or environmental industries.

  • Bachelor's or master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety Management or Quality Control/Assurance.

  • Knowledge of and experience with reviewing and applying Federal, state, and local H&S regulations

  • Experience developing and auditing EHS programs in industrial settings preferred

  • Familiarity with EHS management systems such as ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001

  • Project management experience
