Golder has a new opportunity for a Field Technician to join our California Operations Team in a Full-Time position in our Irvine, CA office.
This Individual will perform tasks related to environmental monitoring of industrial sites, as well as solid waste facilities throughout southern California. Primary tasks will be collecting groundwater, wastewater, soil, soil vapor, air quality samples with additional support to environmental remediation projects. Non-sampling tasks related to environmental remediation will including oversight of treatment system construction, soil excavation, and emergency clean-up/response. As experience with remediation systems is gained, operations and maintenance of remediation systems will become part of the job responsibilities. Other environmental field related activities will be required for a variety of facilities. Will be responsible for safe operation and maintenance of monitoring instruments, field equipment, and vehicles related to the job. Will be responsible for documenting all field activities in accordance with project procedures, as well as proper data handling.
3 years’ experience in collecting air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater, industrial wastewater, and/or stormwater samples
Minimum of a high school diploma
Must be available at times for emergency call-outs relating to emergency response and system outages
Must be available for travel as needed, with limited overnight stays required
Must have good interpersonal skills, present a professional appearance, and be able to work independently
Candidate must be willing to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment and be able to lift 50 pounds
Working outdoors in all weather conditions
Preparing daily field reports and field sampling logs;
Prospective employees are subject to a pre-employment physical, drug screening, criminal background check, and DMV background check
Environmental monitoring and remediation experience
Solid waste landfill experience a plus
Experience with monitoring instruments, pump repairs, and generators is highly desirable
OSHA Hazwoper or MSHA training a plus
Having a BA in a science/engineering related field is also an advantage
Familiarity with remediation systems, blowers, pumps, flares, engines, or gas turbines a plus
