Golder Associates Inc. seeks a Mid-Level to Senior Geotechnical Engineer for its Irvine, Sunnyvale, Walnut Creek or Sacramento locations in California.
This role for the geotechnical engineer is an integral part of the development of the Irvine, California office. In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of an expanding Geotechnical Engineering practice within a multi-disciplinary team working on exciting and challenging civil, environmental, mining, and urban development projects throughout Southern California.
The primary focus for the Mid-Level to Senior Geotechnical Engineer, will be to manage and develop existing client relationships and project opportunities, and to provide geotechnical project direction. You will also provide technical leadership, mentoring, and develop graduate and intermediate engineers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities will Include:
Leadership of project teams who successfully deliver technically excellent projects safely, on time, within budget; and to the clients’ and Golder’s standards.
Geotechnical engineering analyses and reporting, including, foundations, retaining structures, earthquake hazard evaluations, and slope stability
Confirming compliance with Golder’s Health and Safety requirements for project teams
Represent Golder at project team meetings, client events, and professional meetings
Work collaboratively with senior members of the Golder team to interact with clients, engineering firms, developers, public agencies and contractors to develop project opportunities
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
MS in Geotechnical Engineering
7 to 12 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated successful project management experience
Registered Professional Engineer – California registration preferred but not necessary
Strong soil mechanics and foundation engineering knowledge
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Solid waste and/or mining engineering experience
Advanced earthquake geotechnical engineering knowledge
Registered Geotechnical Engineer
Ability to engage in business development activities in the private and public marketplace
Proven commitment to a strong Health and Safety culture
