Golder Associates is currently seeking a Senior Geochemist to join our US Mine Environment team. This position can be located in any of our Western US Mining offices, including Denver, CO, Reno, NV, Salt Lake City, UT, Phoenix, AZ, or Tucson, AZ.
Salary range : $115,310 - $172,960
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Provide leadership and participate in a broad range of technical services in the field of geochemistry including impact assessments, baseline studies, feasibility studies, and water supply development throughout the world
Coordinate with local internal and external clients to drive sales and client engagement
Support a working environment oriented to trust, open communication, innovation, cohesion and motivation for the team to deliver the organizational vision
Active collaboration with other senior practitioners on development and execution of mining business strategy
designing / conducting field investigations and laboratory testing programs
completing quantitative evaluations of field and laboratory data using a variety of analytical tools
formulating conclusions and recommendations, and preparing reports and presentations
Develop opportunities and prepare proposals in response to client needs
Direct projects according to client-approved scopes of work, and deliver high quality reports on time and within budget
Mentor and develop staff within our business
Active membership of Golder’s global geochemistry and other appropriate technical communities
A undergraduate degree in geochemistry, geology, hydrogeochmistry, or a related field
At least 12 years of applied experience, preferably in the environmental or mining sector
Demonstrated success in the development and execution of projects with a focus on mining geochemistry
Strong, all-round knowledge of geochemistry, surface water and groundwater interactions, hydrology, water treatment and chemical hydrogeology related to mining environments
Experience with industry-standard geochemical, hydrogeological or hydrological software
Professional designation as a geoscientist
A graduate degree in geochemistry, geology, hydrogeochemistry, or a related field
Experience with geochemical modeling codes (PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench)
Academic knowledge of geology, geochemistry, surface water and groundwater interactions, hydrology, water treatment and physical and chemical hydrogeology
A strong quantitative background
Advanced experience in environmental data collection, laboratory analysis, and data validation techniques
Advanced knowledge of the mining industry and regulatory environment
