Golder is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Great Lakes Operations in Western Michigan who can direct field work, perform technical assessments, prepare technical reports, manage projects, and support proposal efforts for a variety of environmental, waste and water resources clients. Projects include ground water monitoring for solid waste facilities, soil and groundwater remediation, stormwater management, statistical analysis, groundwater modeling, environmental permitting, and hydrogeologic characterization reports.
As a key member of our team, you will support existing water resource and environmental projects using a strong foundation in quantitative hydrogeology. Duties include:
Conducting and leading field work and field data collection, documentation, and data evaluation.
Providing technical expertise and/or support for geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling, contaminated site investigation and characterization, and development of conceptual site models.
Interpretation of hydrogeologic and hydrologic data using data manipulation tools (such as Excel and Access).
Working with engineers, GIS specialists, and other environmental experts to contribute to larger multidisciplinary projects.
Use knowledge of regulatory requirements to deliver technically appropriate work necessary to successfully complete project work.
BS in Hydrogeology or Geology (with hydrogeology focus)
15 years of experience
Technical consulting experience in several of the following areas: ground water monitoring for solid waste facilities, soil and groundwater remediation, stormwater management, statistical analysis, groundwater modeling, environmental permitting, and hydrogeologic characterization reports .
Excellent and demonstrated verbal and written communications skills, with ability to effectively communicate technical information to clients, regulators, and colleagues.
The ability and willingness to travel locally.
An appreciation for high quality, client focused work products is essential.
Strong commitment to timely delivery of services.
Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
Exhibit strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Candidate must be willing to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment, be able to lift 50 pounds and be willing to travel locally. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a physical examination as a condition of employment.
Experience working in an environmental or engineering consulting firm.
Current Health and Safety training, such as OSHA HAZWOPER or MSHA preferred
