Golder Associates Latin America Human Resources Leader in LAS CONDES, Chile

Golder in Latin America is currently looking for a Latin America Human Resources Leader (LA HR leader) to be based in our Santiago, Chile office.

The LA HR leader is a true business partner to the Regional VP and ultimately accountable for HR operational delivery in Latin America. The LA HR leader is a contributing member of the LA leadership team and ensures delivery excellence with regards to HR operational performance, and fit-for-purpose, simple and cost effective solutions to more complex business issues relating to HR. Alongside the Regional VP, the regional HR leader designs and implements an effective HR organization to serve the needs of the region.

In addition to regional duties, the LA HR leader is a member of the Global HR Team and will also contribute to overall global HR strategy through regular meetings with the Global Mining HR Leader. The Regional HR leader may contribute time and effort to global HR projects, and is accountable to for ensuring that global HR standards, where applicable, are implemented within the region.

This role is a balance between strategic leadership as well as a hands-on tactical role focused on delivery.

Latin America:

  • Develop, implement, and report progress on the annual HR plan for Latin America, based on the global and regional HR tasks included in 2017 Business Plans. Includes management of schedule and timely report on progress.

  • Accountable for HR operational delivery in Latin America, maintaining a regional cost effective HR structure to serve the business, being hands-on in HR projects and tasks where needed.

  • Acts as HR business partner to LA management and leadership, providing timely and effective solutions to complex business matters relating to HR

  • Ensures that LA HR team (embedded HR) remains close to the business and provides a high degree of customer satisfaction to both leadership, P&A communities, and employees.

  • Provides mentorship, guidance, advice, training, and support to business leaders and local HR teams.

  • Ensures that HR related practices within the region are working in harmony with global standards and within the region, and that consolidation of policies, practices, and services occurs where practical.

  • Is responsible for local HR staff performance reviews and goal/target setting, and periodically reviews and/or audits local HR practices to ensure compliance with local laws and corporate standards within assigned region.

  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communication throughout the region on HR matters with regional stakeholders regarding global and regional HR related initiatives; travels within assigned region as necessary to build stakeholder alignment and support.

  • Handling specific tasks, which may include, but are not limited to: key hires; transfers; onboarding of key staff; preparing HR notes for internal webpage; etc.


  • Understands, communicates and implements global HR standards within region, including but not limited to HRIS, Talent Management, Performance, Remuneration, Reward and other related programs.


  • Maintains high ethical standards and compliance with Golder policies and local laws.

  • Maintains absolute confidentiality of information relating to sensitive HR matters.

  • As determined, additional specific duties or projects as assigned
