Golder has a new opportunity for a Site Manager to join our team in Chile, on a full-time contract basis for our CQA services for the Tailings Management Facility (TMF) for the QB2 Project, one of the most important projects of Golder now .
This role will include:
Implement the HSSE Plan and lead aproactive and results-focused HSSE culture.
Implement and lead our project for theConstruction Quality Assurance for the TMF, in close collaboration with the Engineerof Record/ Engineering Manager (located in Vancouver).
Interact with the Owner Constructionteam members, including the construction manager (CM) representative.
Leading the site Golder ConstructionQuality Assurance team members.
Establish and communicate theobjectives and scope of the project, provide the work program, lead changemanagement, coordinate individual tasks and responsibilities, and ensure thatdeadlines are met.
Carry out daily, weekly, and monthlyprogramming coordination with the team involved in the execution of the worksin terms of the quality management of the work.
Assist the project management team inthe preparation of progress and cost reports.
Maintain effective communication withthe Client and the CM Representative.
Professional background and experience;
Minimum 20 years of experience in similar positions in engineering projects and tailings geotechnical oriented as well as quality assurance – expertise required:
Dam Construction, tailings classification (cycloning) and distribution, civil earthworks, strong knowledge of water management, including piping and pumping, and QA.
Engineering Professional; with academic training as Project / Construction Manager (desirable).
Background / experience with similar large construction projects, preferably in Latin America
Availability to work under an 8x6 shift in Iquique (project location).
Ability to work at high altitude (project site at about 4,600 msnm).
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.
