Golder is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Manchester, New Hampshire office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help lead our growing Geotechnical Practice and be involved in a variety of technically challenging projects throughout New England, and the opportunity to collaborate with leading industry experts in North America and worldwide. The primary focus for the Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be managing existing client relationships and project opportunities as well as developing new client relationships and project opportunities. This role will also be responsible for providing technical leadership, mentoring, developing graduate and intermediate individuals, and providing project direction and senior review.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Work collaboratively with other senior members of the Golder team to interact with clients, engineering firms, developers, public agencies, and contractors to develop project opportunities.
The leadership of project teams ensuring successful delivery of technical excellence, projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to client and Golder’s standard.
Providing and contributing to client relationships, business development strategies and tactics focused on building and growing our business.
Leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
Participating in and promoting a safety-first culture.
Senior leadership and review for the production of technical reports and proposals.
Technical leadership of geotechnical engineering analyses and reporting, including deep foundations, retaining structures, and slope stability.
Represent Golder at project team meetings, client events, and professional meetings.
Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
Project management skills commensurate with years of experience.
Minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
Registered Professional Engineer – in 1 or more New England states.
Strong soil mechanics, foundation, and slope stability engineering knowledge.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated client liaison and business development skills.
Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to think critically and problem solve.
Ability to effectively delegate work and lead project teams.
Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
Civil Engineering experience.
Design-build experience in transportation and/or development discipline or task lead.
Numerical modelling experience.
Retaining walls and ground support experience.
Experience analyzing soil-structure interaction.
Rock mechanics experience.
