A hands-on opportunity has arisen for an experienced Geotechnical Instrumentation Engineer based in either our Melbourne or Brisbane office. This role is site and office based with regular travel, where you will deliver geotechnical instrumentation, data logging and telemetry projects within mining, civil infrastructure, hydrogeology and environmental engineering for Golder clients.
Key duties and responsibilities will include :
Demonstrated experience in delivering technical geotechnical instrumentation projects from tender through to implementation on site,
Demonstrated experience in Designing, fabricating, programming and site installation of instrumentation as well as commissioning of data logging and telemetry systems,
Carrying out data processing, web presentation and ongoing system maintenance both remotely from the office and on site,
Developing client relationships and building business networks that turn into commercial opportunities as well as Delivering proposal and installation reports incorporating senior reviews,
Identifying safety hazards and reporting OH&S incidents including fostering a health and safety culture with the team.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electronic, civil, mining, geotechnical engineering or a relevant diploma or trade qualification including at least 2 years of geotechnical instrumentation experience,
Demonstrated technical experience in instrumentation such as piezometers, inclinometers, extensometers, strain gauges, load cells and Data logging, either commercial stand-alone loggers and/or SCADA/PLC
Telemetry experience such as IP/Wireless/Radio/Satellite; and fabrication and bench testing of electronic systems and Data logger programming (Campbell Scientific preferred)
High attention to detail, excellent problem solving and analytical skills coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as ability to managing small to mid-size projects to ensure targets and deadlines are met.
