Golder has new opportunities for multiple GeotechnicalTechnicians to join our Geotechnical Groups in our Mississauga, Cambridgeor St. Catharines, Ontario offices on a contractual basis.
An overview of yourrole will include:
Completingfield geotechnical construction monitoring and materials testing under thedirection of our senior technicians, engineers, and scientists
Providingoversight and quality control of technical services in a field and office environment
Supportingand developing our geotechnical construction monitoring and materials testingservices business and on-going client relationships
Workingwith our senior business leadership team to deliver, grow and manage thesuccess of our geotechnical construction monitoring and materials testingservices
Performingconstruction site reconnaissance, inspections and observations, and training ofother technicians for testing soils, concrete and asphalt; pile driving;grouting; foundation drilling; supervising drill rigs and/or excavators;logging boreholes and test pits; site surveying; sampling soil and groundwater;and preparation of detailed site sketches and field reports
Providingtechnical assistance, training, and guidance of junior technical staff
Coordinatingstaff to maintain equipment and methods in compliance with expected standards(e.g., MTO, ASTM, CCIL, etc.)
Summarizingand analyzing findings from field and lab testing in written reports
Workingwith and providing support to other members of the local and regional groups inassisting with other field, laboratory, and office activities as required
Participatein mentorship, training, review, and other interrelated activities towardsuccession planning and a positive work environment
You will have abackground in:
CollegeDiploma in a Civil Engineering or Environmental Sciences Technician/Technologistprogram, preferably with a focus on site monitoring activities, including useof specialized equipment
Co-opstudents (available Summer through December), new graduates, and those with upto 10 years of previous experience working as a Geotechnical Technician/Technologist
Adrive to develop your career toward delivering, developing, and managing alocal and regional construction materials testing business
Avalid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Goodwritten and verbal communication skills
