Golder has a new opportunity for a Junior Environmental Field Technicians to join our Environmental Permitting and Monitoring team on a full-time basis based in Mississauga, Ontario .
An overview of your role will include:
Various fieldwork duties to include drill rig supervision, collection of water level data, various aquifer testing methods including pump tests and sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water and other media in support of various environmental and hydrogeological investigations;
Completing various tasks in the office setting, including summary and analysis field data, production of tables, figures, and writing of portions of letters and reports;
Preparing or assisting in preparation of various letters and documents to communicate with clients, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and the general public;
Completing tasks and assignments of limited complexity under close supervision from the project manager and other senior staff;
Presenting a professional demeanour in the field, office and meetings, and performance of duties proficiently to make a positive impression on clients;
Performing other duties as required.
You will possess the following qualifications:
A minimum of a College Diploma in Environmental Technician/ Technologist or related discipline;
One (1) to five (5) years of relevant work experience, is preferred;
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and critical thinking skills essential;
Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle on a daily basis, with access to appropriate registration and insurance, as travel to a variety of locations not easily assessable by public transportation is possible;
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and adapt quickly, while managing a busy workload;
Proven problem-solving skills;
Enthusiastic, versatile, and willing to take on responsibility;
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic;
Ability to work weekends and evenings as required to meet project commitments; and ability to travel within and out of province occasionally and/or regularly;
Demonstrating a “Safety-First” focus and acting as a role model to other staff; and,
Maintaining a high standard of behaviour to uphold Golder’s reputation and demonstrating a commitment to our Core Values.
