Golder has a new opportunity for a Geotechnical Co-op Student (8 months) to join our Eastern Canada Geotechnical Group on a contract basis based in Ottawa.
An overview of your role will include:
Involved in field investigations for geotechnical assessments
Carry out field and laboratory work related to soil, concrete, and asphalt testing
Office work may include summarizing test results
Assisting with various field activities, including inspections and testing services on construction projects, drilling, and test pitting;
Participating in a team environment within and outside of the geotechnical discipline;
Learning about the consulting business;
You will have a background in:
Currently enrolled in a Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering degree
Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle required;
Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Ability and willingness to travel; and,
Bilingual written and verbal in both French and English considered an asset.
Be available to work full-time from May to December
