Golder is seeking a bilingual French-English Proposal Specialist to support the growth of our North American consulting services business. As a member of the North American Proposal Team, based in either our Montreal or Mississauga office, the Proposal Specialist will manage and contribute to proposal pursuits. The role also includes win strategy planning and, capture planning, development and post-submission efforts for service or industry based bids in response to local, regional, national, or global requests, as needed. In this role, the Proposal Specialist swill also be responsible for being a gatekeeper of proposal content online, and an advocate for promoting the proposal team’s best practices, tools and policies. This may include being the main contributor to French content, which would require some translation/ adaptation of English proposal content.
A successful Proposal Specialist must be client-focused, have strong relationship building skills, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and excellent project management, time management, and communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Review/analyze in-bound proposal requests (such as RFP, RFQ, EOI, SOA, etc.), and develop proposal plans, proposal structure, proposal schedule and contents to address these
Develop proposal content based on RFP criteria in collaboration with the subject matter experts and business development team
Adapt existing resumes, project descriptions and boilerplate information
Own all proposal production activities, including proofreading, formatting, printing, binding, distribution and delivery for exceptional, on-time delivery
Review final/deliverable documents for quality assurance and quality control;
Maintain and contribute to content libraries of standard proposal responses
Continuously improve the proposal process from opportunity evaluation, strategy development, and post-bid evaluation
Serve as a subject matter expert and participate in the development of proposal team best practices, tools, and policies
Facilitate capture planning sessions
Develop/assess and execute proposal win strategy;
Facilitate short-list interview strategy, develop presentations, and coach rehearsals;
Compile internal intelligence such as history with the client for proposal decisions and strategy
Effectively communicate with proposal teams and colleagues, as well as other stakeholders
Think and act in Golder’s best interest and actively promote our core values
Travel between offices may be required for training and proposal related activities
Monitor procurement databases for opportunities
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, sciences, engineering, business, or related discipline
A minimum of 3-5 years experience being fully immersed in proposal writing and strategic bidding
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French are a must
Attention to detail and excellent proofreading/grammar skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Superb team player with the ability to prioritize, and multitask, in a deadline-driven environment
Exceptional Project Management skills
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud suite (primarily InDesign and Acrobat) is desirable
Experience working on Federal Government and Public Works proposals is desirable
Experience in the professional services consulting industry (engineering and sciences) an asset)
Experience working with both internal and external client groups, and distributed (virtual) proposal teams
Comfortable working and interacting at all levels in a multidisciplinary environment
